GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Washington Street Bridge over Murrow Boulevard will be closed to all traffic, including motorized vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians starting Tuesday morning due to structural deficiencies, Greensboro officials said.
After a regularly scheduled engineering inspection of the bridge conducted on Monday, several structural deficiencies were identified.
The City of Greensboro Department of Transportation said they are closing the bridge out of an abundance of caution, the city said.
Additional assessment will be completed to determine the extent of the structural issues and potential next steps. Detour routes will be in place.
