BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Biloxi may have a new routine meeting added to the schedule of councilmen and the city’s administration. Monday night’s special workshop, called by the mayor, was billed as a question-and-answer session before Tuesday’s council meeting.

Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich said this may become the new norm for the city, and this is in direct response to calls for more transparency by some councilmen in recent meetings. Council members that WLOX News spoke to said this is a step in the right direction.

The meeting lasted about an hour and a half. The majority of that time was spent in executive session. Behind closed doors, councilmen and the city’s administration heard from the attorney hired to handle the eminent domain dispute that could cost Biloxi almost $4 million.
