BLACK RIVER, Jamaica — Pressure is mounting in Jamaica to get food and water to some of the hardest hit areas after Hurricane Melissa . Several rescue and relief groups, including North Carolina-based Operation Helo , are on the ground helping.

"It always shocks you just how powerful Mother Nature is,” said Eric Robinson with Operation Helo, as he was driving through the countryside on the way to another mission.

On the ground, the damage is incredible. Drone footage gives another perspective, looking a lot like a tornado-ravaged area. Entire blocks of buildings are either flattened or gutted.

Time is of the essence. “The first critical aspect of the mission is making sure that people have what they need to survive,” Robinson said. “We're in that phase right now."
