October 7, 2024, was supposed to be a routine morning for Winnie when she took her daughter, Kaelie, to school on Chase Avenue.

“I turn on the side street. I see his car,” described Winnie. Bryant, the father of her child’s black car with dark-tinted windows was parked outside their daughter’s pre-school in Lakewood.
