Bollywood actor Celina Jaitly on Monday hailed the Delhi High Court’s ruling as a “ray of hope" after it directed authorities to ensure legal access for her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in the UAE for over a year.

The actor shared her reaction on social media shortly after the court’s hearing, expressing relief and gratitude following the court’s order, which directs the central government to facilitate communication and provide effective legal representation for her brother.

“I write this from the gates of the esteemed Delhi High Court with immense gratitude, as after an arduous 14 months I have finally reached the light at the end of the dark tunnel," the actor wrote.
