BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — Bay Minette's first Black Mayor was sworn into office today.

In August, voters elected Joshua Brown, replacing longtime Mayor Bob Wills, who held the position for 13 years.

Brown wants to unify the city, as well as address drainage and traffic infrastructure issues.

"The number one thing is making sure we are unified as a complete city, because we all have the same goal. We want to see Bay Minette grow and prosper," Mayor Brown said. "So I really want to get this comprehensive drainage analysis in place. I also want to take care of the city employees, make sure they have the proper resources and tools to effectively serve our citizens in Bay Minette."
