Indian equities opened on a subdued note on Tuesday, tracking weak global cues and the absence of major catalysts. At 02:00 PM, the BSE Sensex was trading around 83,661 levels, lower by 317.63 points or 0.38 per cent, while the Nifty50 was at 25,658, down 104 points or 0.41 per cent.

Bharti Airtel, Titan Company, Reliance Industries, Adani Ports, Kotak Bank, and ICICI Bank were among the key gainers on the Sensex, lending support to the market.

On the flip side, Power Grid, Eternal, Maruti Suzuki, BEL, HCL Tech, and Infosys led the declines, slipping as much as 2.5%.

In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap index added 0.02%, while the Nifty SmallCap index slipped 0.09%, reflecting mixed sentiment.
