COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — The President's administration announced Monday that SNAP will be partially refunded for November. This comes after two judges ruled the government must keep the food aid program running.

The funding is enough to cover about half the number of benefits. It's still unclear how much recipients will get or when they will receive that money.

According to the Tennessee Department of Human Services website, Cocke County has almost 6,300 people who draw SNAP benefits.

That's why organization leaders in the county have found a way to support the community most days this month. Cocke County Mayor Rob Mathis said several agencies were already gearing up for the holidays, so they focused on amplifying those efforts in preparation for the lapse in funding.
