An Air India flight heading from San Francisco to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing after facing technical issues in midair. The Boeing 777 aircraft was diverted to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia with 245 people on board — with passengers forced to stay in the city till alternative arrangements could be made.
“AI174 of 02 November, operating from San Francisco to Delhi via Kolkata, made a precautionary landing at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after the flight crew suspected a technical issue en route. Hotel arrangements have been made for their stay after clearing immigration procedures at the airport while Air India makes alternative arrangements to fly them to their destination Delhi at the earliest,” the airline said in a statement.
