Canada Border Services Agency have seized 560 kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine that was hidden in car parts destined for Australia.

A CBSA release says the seizure was made on Sept. 3, at Vancouver International Airport. It comprised 300 compressed bricks of cocaine weighing 319 kilograms (703 pounds) and 110 vacuum-sealed packages of methamphetamine weighing 241 kilograms (530 pounds).

This is one of the CBSA’s largest narcotics seizures for drugs destined for export from YVR.

“This is a great example of the work CBSA officers are doing to disrupt organized crime and ensure our borders are secure,” said Minister of Public Safety Gary Anandasangaree.

The drugs were handed over to the RCMP, who are investigating.
