LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - A regularly scheduled London city council meeting erupted in drama Monday night as Mayor Randall Weddle and council members clashed over agenda procedures and legal expenses.

Weddle expressed frustration about the council wanting to add an item to the agenda without notifying the mayor’s office or city clerk’s office beforehand.

“You know how bad it makes us look that you guys have not notified my office then you come in here with your private agendas,” Weddle said during the meeting.

The exchange escalated as council members and the mayor argued about the city’s attorneys and Weddle’s attorneys, with both sides blaming each other for wasting taxpayer money and lacking transparency.
