TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WMBD) - Washington boys soccer knocked off defending 2A state champion Althoff Catholic 2-0 Monday night in Taylorville to clinch their first Final Four berth in program history.

Freshman goalkeeper Oliver Wettstein shined with multiple key saves in the first half to keep it scoreless in the first 40 minutes.

At the 66th minute mark, Isaac Reetz placed a beautiful through ball to Hudson Scrivner on a breakaway and he blasted home the 1-on-1 chance to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead with 14 minutes left.

Three minutes later, the Panthers iced the game off a free kick from John Clift which was headed in by senior Jackson MacGregor.
