AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas woman has filed a lawsuit against an Austin developer who she said illegally obtained her property after someone forged her signature.

Now there are two new homes where her grandmother's East Austin house once stood.

It's another example of what the KVUE Defenders have found is a much larger problem in Texas real estate.

Shannon Pleasant contacted the Defenders after seeing our investigation into how a Central Texas family lost their East Austin land in what they described as an "illegal land grab." Now she's in a legal fight to keep the family property she inherited.

KVUE visited Pleasant in her grandmother's old neighborhood, just off North Pleasant Valley Road.

Even though she moved to Houston years ago, Pleasant said she's an Austinite at heart.
