NEW DELHI/RANCHI, November 5, 2025: India’s largest power utility, NTPC Limited, has reached an important milestone by starting the commercial operation of the first 800 MW unit at its Patratu Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) in Jharkhand.
Unit 1 (800 MW) of the Patratu STPP, Phase-I (3x800 MW), began commercial operation at 00:00 hours on November 5, 2025. This addition has raised the NTPC Group's total installed and commercial capacity to a notable 84,849 MW.
