New Perth Scorchers recruit Brody Couch plans to lean on his existing relationship with WA teammates to get to grips with the Optus Stadium wicket come Big Bash season.
The paceman was announced as the 15th and final member of the Scorchers’ squad on Tuesday as a replacement for Lance Morris, who will undergo back surgery.
The well-travelled Couch has enjoyed a colourful career; raised in country Victoria but born in the USA, he qualifies as a local and has played Major League Cricket with San Francisco Unicorns.
But he is no stranger to Australian shores, having spent three Big Bash seasons with Melbourne Stars and having earned a WA contract last season, famously took the state’s first-ever Sheffield Shield hat-trick exactly one year ago to the day.
