Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has lauded Team India women’s cricketer Renuka Singh Thakur for her stellar performance in the Women’s World Cup . The Chief Minister spoke with Renuka, who hails from Rohru in Shimla, on Monday and announced a financial reward of Rs 1 crore from the government in recognition of her achievements.

During their conversation, CM Sukhu praised Renuka’s bowling, which he observed had exerted considerable pressure on the South African team. He commended her despite noticing the pressure she was under, stating that her performance had made the state proud.

He also shared that this was the first women’s cricket match he had watched, and he was particularly impressed by her efforts during the semifinals and finals
