It wasn’t the way the Colorado women’s soccer team would have preferred to begin its postseason run. But the Buffaloes turned things around in a hurry.
The 11th-ranked and third-seeded Buffs blitzed Central Florida after halftime, scoring three goals in quick succession to post a 3-2 victory on Monday night in the first round of the Big 12 Conference tournament at TCU.

The Buffs extended their unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) while setting up a semifinal battle against seventh-seeded Kansas on Wednesday at TCU. CU (15-2-3) is the top seed remaining in the semifinals, as the tournament’s other top four seeds — top-seeded TCU, second-seeded West Virginia and fourth-seeded Texas Tech — all lost their opening games on Monday.
