Clara Frei and Morgan Horowitz scored a goal apiece as ninth-seeded Morristown-Beard defeated eighth-seeded Kent Place, 2-1, in the first roun of the North Jersey, Non-Public A tournament in Summit.

Margot McKinney added an assist for Morristown-Beard (9-6-1).

Morristown-Beard will play top-seeded Immaculate Heart, No. 7 in the NJ.com Top 20, in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Ella Culligan scored the lone goal for Kent Place (6-9-1) with Emma Cardoso picking up the assist. Ellora Roberts made six saves.
