People throughout the UK are being reminded they may be entitled to as much as £2,000 in assistance with their energy bills. British Gas customers can access the Energy Support Fund (ESF), which offers grants of up to £2,000 to clear outstanding energy debt.
Those with different energy suppliers may instead qualify for the Individuals and Families Fund (I&F), providing up to £1,700 to customers of any energy company, provided their supplier lacks its own scheme or they can demonstrate an unsuccessful application to that scheme. Both programmes are administered by the British Gas Energy Trust.
