Newly inducted Telangana minister MD Azharuddin has been assigned the Public Enterprises and Minority Welfare portfolios.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration (Poll.B) Department, the Public Enterprises portfolio; earlier handled by the Chief Minister and the Minority Welfare portfolio, previously managed by Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, have now been officially transferred to Minister Azharuddin.

The former Indian cricket captain, who recently joined the Telangana cabinet, is expected to take charge of his new responsibilities immediately.
