The Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden in Lucknow is set to become home to several new and exciting species as part of a major inter-zoo animal exchange programme. The new arrivals, expected in two months, will include a pair of hyenas and chinkaras from Jaipur Zoo, along with a pair of African gray parrots and two pairs of Alexandrine parakeets from Mumbai Zoo.

New animals to undergo 21-day quarantine period

According to Zoo PRO Anoop Chaturvedi, the exchange will also benefit the partner zoos. In return, Lucknow will send one pair of barasingha (swamp deer) to each of the Jaipur and Mumbai zoos.
