New Jersey’s very hot governor’s race is sprinting to a frenzied finish, with a number of notable moments in the closing 48 hours before Election Day.

Among them:

Comedian Stephen Colbert released a video publicly backing his Montclair neighbor, Democratic nominee Mikie Sherrill .

President Donald Trump urged Lakewood’s Orthodox Jewish community to vote for Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli and held another telephone rally for his endorsed candidate.

The brother of Brian Sicknick, the Jersey-native police officer who died after the Jan. 6 attack, called on voters to reject Ciattarelli and elect Sherrill.

Ciattarelli’s son, an Army officer deployed overseas, returned home to surprise his father in an emotional scene at a Passaic County campaign event.
