Devon motorists are being warned by forecasters to be prepared for heavy rain over most of the next 24 hours across the south of the county.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office this morning covering most of southern Cornwall and Devon and encompassing all of Plymouth, which comes into force at midday.
As well as Plymouth, the area covered also includes Totnes, Ivybridge, Chagford, Chudleigh, Tavistock and Ashburton. Exeter is still forecast heavy rain all day, although it is just outside of the warning zone.
A spokesperson for the Met Office warned motorists of "surface water flooding and travel disruption" being possible later today "with southerly winds strengthening". This evening's forecast is said to be "wet and windy" with "heavy rain for many and further pe
