CLEVELAND, Ohio — Tuesday’s general election is all about local decisions. With no statewide races or issues on the ballot, Cuyahoga County voters will be weighing in on contests closer to home.
Voters will choose mayors, council members, municipal judges and school board representatives, and decide on local ballot measures, like tax questions, that could shape community leadership and priorities for years to come.
Cleveland’s City Council races could shift the balance of power at City Hall. Cleveland, Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland all have competitive mayoral contests on the ballot. And several school districts are seeking levies that could increase property taxes in those areas.
So far, though, voter turnout has been low. Less than 6% of registered voters have cast their ballot
