Former India captain Mithali Raj attributed the team’s historic ODI World Cup victory to a mix of belief, preparation, and the evolving structure of women’s cricket in the country.
“I think there are a lot of factors behind why this team was able to cross the line. One, of course, is the belief that each and every player spoke about coming into the tournament. Second, the preparation — for the past year, they’ve been playing high-quality cricket. The results were in India’s favour, both at home and overseas,” Raj told CNBC-TV18.
