Students at Midale Central School collected a different kind of treat this Halloween. They took to the streets of their community on Friday afternoon to "Trick or Treat for Hunger" collecting nonperishable food donations for the Midale Public Library and the Weyburn Salvation Army.
Teacher of the MCS grade 2 and 3 class and representative on the School Community Council, Jessica McNabb, says this is their third consecutive year holding the event. It was an opportunity to teach students the importance of helping others.
“It’s a fun way for the kids to be active, interact with the community, and think about those in need.”
The Weyburn Salvation Army took to Facebook to thank the school for their contribution. Their portion of the donations collected amounted to 543 pounds, more than they
