After years of planning, discussion, and construction, the RCMP Municipal Detachment in Niverville officially opened its doors on Monday, a milestone that both town officials and local officers say will make a big difference for the growing community.

Located at 329A Bronstone Drive, the newly renovated 3,000-square-foot space marks the beginning of a new chapter in local policing.

The detachment will be open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering services like criminal record checks, vulnerable sector checks, general inquiries, and special occasion licenses. There are no cells at the Niverville RCMP Detachment.

The office is staffed by four RCMP officers and one public service employee, and will continue to work closely with the St. Pierre-Jolys Detachment, which has long served
