EXETER - The Oyster River High School boys soccer team entered Monday's Division II semifinal game with 16 wins, one tie and a trip to the state championship game on the line.

Less than 4 minutes into the first overtime period, Max Cail scored on a header that snuck in as fifth-seeded ConVal upset top-seeded Oyster River, 2-1 at Exeter High School.

"I'm extremely proud of how my guys handled this game," Oyster River first-year head coach Danny Watson said. "It's incredibly difficult to go down 1-0 in an intense semifinal. It's really hard to not only come back from that, but it's hard not to get down on each other, and it's hard not to implode."
