New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Bhutan on November 11 and 12. His visit coincidently matches to the 70th birthday of Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth King of Bhutan and father of the current King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

According to sources, PM Modi’s visit will focus on strengthening India-Bhutan ties through new development projects and cultural exchanges. During the visit, the Prime Minister is expected to attend events marking the King’s milestone birthday as the guest of honour.

Inaugurating key energy projects

He is also expected to inaugurate the Punatsangchhu-II Hydropower Project, a key symbol of India-Bhutan cooperation in the energy sector.
