ROCKLAND, Maine — Rockland police have arrested a juvenile after a firearm was allegedly discharged during a confrontation with other youths, according to a Tuesday news release from the Rockland Police Department.
Officers responded on Oct. 31 at approximately 9 p.m. to the Rockland Public Restrooms on Tillson Avenue for a report of shots fired. Police said their investigation, which included witness interviews, evidence collection, and review of surveillance video, showed that a dispute over social media posts escalated between a juvenile and a young adult.
During the confrontation, police say the juvenile allegedly brandished a firearm, fired a shot into the air, and aimed the weapon at the adult and roughly 10 other juveniles who were present. The suspect then reportedly discharged
