Ottawa police have charged a man with second-degree murder after the victim of a recent stabbing died from their injuries. The same accused also faces a charge of attempted murder for a separate stabbing incident that happened just a day later.

On Oct. 17, a person was stabbed and critically injured near the corner of King Edward Avenue and York Street. Paramedics told CBC they responded around 10:30 a.m. that day.

The victim, identified as a man by paramedics, died as a result of his injuries on Oct. 30, while police announced the murder charge against 35-year-old Osanhenoma Igbinedion on Tuesday.
