HORACE, N.D. — Kenzie Bastian doesn’t mind taking her work home every single day.
Or, more precisely, baking her work from home.
In August, the 27-year-old launched Kenzie’s Sourdough Bakery, a home-based bake stand from her house in Horace, N.D.
That means every Friday and Saturday, after baking all week, she fills a wooden stand by her front door with treats like brown-butter chocolate-chunk cookies, sourdough loaves, pumpkin cinnamon-swirl bread, jalapeno-cheddar sourdough and Parmesan-cheddar crackers.
She advertises her goodies on social media apps like Nextdoor and Instagram and also posts a small sign by her street on weekends. Many of the goodies on the stand are pre-orders, but there’s a shelf of extra treats for walk-ups too.
It’s a help-yourself enterprise. A locked cashb
