Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks' passing attack have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2025 NFL season.
Now the Seahawks quarterback has one of the league's most dynamic deep threats to throw to, as Seattle acquired wide receiver Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, Nov. 4, hours before the trade deadline, according to multiple reports.
The Saints are adding a fourth- and fifth-round pick in 2026 from the Seahawks, per ESPN.
Shaheed spent time in New Orleans with Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and joins a receiving corps led by Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who currently leads the league in receiving yards (948). Shaheed has 44 catches for 499 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
The Saints, at 1-8, had been pegged as sellers entering the deadline, with both Shaheed and fellow wideout Chris Olave identified as targets contending teams were interested in obtaining.
Seattle is 6-2 and is tied for first place with the Los Angeles Rams in a stacked NFC West.
