Deep Potholes Turn Garacharma–Ferrargunj NH-4 Stretch into a Death Trap

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 4:While protests intensify across South, North, and Middle Andaman over the deplorable condition of NH-4 from Baratang to Diglipur, the only stretch once hailed as “well-constructed” — between Chidiyatapu and Ferrargunj — is now crumbling at an alarming rate. Between Garacharma and Dhanikhari, nearly four dozen major potholes have appeared, some large enough to cause a fatal accident or seriously damage any vehicle unfortunate enough to hit them. Shockingly, despite months of deterioration, NHIDCL has taken no visible action — not even temporary filling or patch repairs — leaving daily commuters to risk their lives on what should have been the safest section of NH-4. Residents have expressed outrage, accusing the authorities of complete indifference. “It seems the ad
