CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead during a welfare check in Crossville, according to a news release from Public Information Officer Gary Howard.
It happened Monday, the release said, when deputies responded to 7119 Big Horn Drive. The deputies responded around 9 p.m., after Lake Tansi police officers had visited the house for a welfare check, only to find 76-year-old Linda Spivey dead.
CCSO, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office investigated the death. According to the sheriff’s office, 59-year-old Kenneth Spivey of Wala Wala Trail murdered the woman. Their relation has not been confirmed. He was taken into custody.
