David Beckham received a knighthood from King Charles today in what he described as an 'honour.'

The 50-year-old football legend was named on King Charles' Birthday Honours list earlier this year.

He was knighted during a ceremony in Berkshire on Tuesday, November 4, and later shared an emotional message with his fans.

In it, he thanked his wife, Victoria Beckham, and his 'beautiful children.' It comes amid speculation he has become estranged from his eldest son, Brooklyn, 26.

David and Victoria also share sons Cruz, 20, and 23-year-old Romeo alongside 14-year-old daughter, Harper.
