CHICAGO — The Cubs have reportedly traded relief pitcher Andrew Kittredge back to the Orioles for cash considerations.
ESPN's Jesse Rogers reported that Kittredge is going back to his old team and has a $9 million club option for 2026.
Kittredge proved to be a solid right-handed option for the Cubs putting up a 3.32 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 21.2 innings pitched.
Counsell leaned on him to pitch high-leverage innings in the playoffs and he earned a save to close out the Padres in Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series.
Just a few days into the MLB offseason, it was a busy Tuesday for the front office after reportedly cutting ties with starting pitcher Shota Imanaga.
