LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - State Senator Dan McKeon issued an apology amidst calls for his resignation Tuesday afternoon.
This comes just a day after Gov. Jim Pillen told reporters at a press conference that he asked for McKeon’s resignation on Friday .
In a news release sent to media on Tuesday, McKeon said the following:
On Friday, the Nebraska Examiner reported that McKeon of Amherst had been cited for public indecency after the Nebraska State Patrol received a report about an incident that occurred this past May at a “ sine die ” party held at the end of the legislative session.
According to the report, NSP issued McKeon a citation for public indecency — a Class II misdemeanor — on Thursday.
