JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that Martina Malek has been named the executive director of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center (JHQVAMC).

According to a news release from the VA, Malek will lead the Mountain Home's mission of delivering healthcare to more than 70,000 veterans in more than 41 counties.

“Martina has been the acting medical center director for the past ten months and has demonstrated exceptional leadership, along with incredible business acumen and policy savvy,” said Anthony Stazzone, acting VISN 9 network director, in the release. “When you combine her operational experience with her background in customer engagement and experience, she is an asset for our Veterans, the team at Mountain Home, our VISN, and the community."
