New Orleans police have arrested a man on a count of second-degree murder in connection with an Uber driver's fatal carjacking in the French Quarter last month.
Brandon Joseph was re-booked on murder after the New Orleans Police Department located him in jail, NOPD officials said. Joseph, 21, had been booked into Orleans Justice Center on Oct. 15 and held on a count of aggravated second-degree battery, jail records show.
New Orleans police believe that days prior to his battery arrest, on Oct. 10, Joseph carjacked 60-year-old grandfather Miguel “Nation” Stemley in the 1000 block of Bienville Street moments after Stemley had dropped off a group of tourists.
