The Eagles have activated the practice window for third-year edge rusher Nolan Smith , who has missed the last five weeks with a strained triceps.
Smith could get cleared for Monday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Smith and new Eagles edge rusher Jaelan Phillips will anchor Philadelphia’s pass rush for the rest of the season.
Smith broke out during the second half of the 2024 season and amassed 4.5 sacks in the playoffs. He tore his triceps the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last February and missed part of the offseason program as he rehabbed from that injury.
Barring more injuries, Smith has a bright future as an NFL starter. As a smaller edge rusher at 6-2, 238 pounds, he is one of the league’s best run stoppers off the edge.
