NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints traded two offensive starters ahead of the NFL trade deadline Tuesday (Nov. 4), sending wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to the Seattle Seahawks and tackle Trevor Penning to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Fox 8 confirms the Saints received a fourth- and fifth-round pick in the 2026 draft as compensation for Shaheed.
The move reunites Shaheed with Klint Kubiak, who serves as the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator. Kubiak held the same position with the Saints last season.
Shaheed is currently on a one-year contract with the Saints and will become a free agent this offseason.
Penning, 26, was the Saints’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, taken 19th overall. New Orleans selected him ahead of such other options as CB Trent McDuffie, LB Devin Lloyd, DE
