Easton Area School Board approves 2% raises for its top administrators in a contested vote

The Easton Area School Board approved 2% raises for four of its top administrators in a divided vote at its most recent meeting.

Administrators receiving the raises include:

Chief Human Resources Officer Kara Dufour

Assistant Superintendent Josh Ziatyk

Assistant Superintendent Benita Draper

Chief Financial Officer Jack Trent

The raises were approved in a 6-3 vote at the meeting Tuesday, Oct. 28. You can watch the meeting on YouTube .

Voting against the raises were board members Nekeisha Robertson, Michael Simonetta and Brian Snyder. None of them explained their opposition.

The votes came after school board President Jodi Hess read a letter from resident Jennifer Parziale, who wrote in opposition to the administrators’ raises. She called the raises undeserved. Taxes are going up
