SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish will be out for the entire 2026 season after getting elbow surgery.
Padres pitcher Yu Darvish had surgery to repair his flexor tendon on his right elbow, and had an internal brace attached to his Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) on Wednesday, Oct. 29, Darvish and San Diego Padres President of Baseball Operations A.J. Preller announced Tuesday.
The 39-year-old pitcher posted on his personal social media that he will not be able to pitch games in the 2026 season and will be working on rehabilitation to be able to throw a ball comfortably again.
MLB reports Darvish admitted to having discomfort in his elbow this past season.
His procedure was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas.
