New council gathers for first meeting following the municipal election

Matthew Ferris, county chief administrative officer, called three times for nominations during the Oct. 29 organizational meeting.

Whitecourt Central Coun. Alan Deane nominated Anselmo Coun. Dave Kusch, with no other nominations made.

“I would like to declare Reeve Dave Kusch as the reeve for a term of one year,” Ferris said during the meeting.

Whitecourt West Coun. Patricia MacNeil’s motion to appoint Kusch was carried unanimously, with all councillors present.
