SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Students from Syracuse University, SUNY ESF, Onondaga Community College, and Le Moyne College headed to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4, to make their voices heard in the local election.
For Syracuse University sophomore, Kenny Lanterman, voting here isn't temporary; it's home. Lanterman grew up in Eastwood and graduated from Henninger High School. This year, he's casting a ballot in the same city where he was raised.
"I cared about how people felt about issues, so I knew it was a reality that it was something that I couldn't turn away. It was just a burning fire in my heart," Lanterman said.
At 11 a.m. on Tuesday, students walked together from the Schine Student Center, located on Waverly Avenue, to Huntington Hall.
