HARTSVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) -- Incumbent Hartsville Mayor Casey Hancock was beat out by challenger Dan Askins, unofficial results show.

Hancock, who was elected in 2021 after a runoff, earned just over 46% of Tuesday's election with 714 votes. Askins, meanwhile, earned nearly 54% of the vote with 827.

Askins had been active on social media prior to the election, promising change to the Darlington County city.
