Former Hibs Scottish Cup winner John McGinn, has signed a new contract with Aston Villa ending speculation about his future.

The midfielder who had been linked with a move to Everton in the summer, has agreed a deal that will keep him at Villa until 2028.

Had he moved Hibs would have received a considerable ‘sell on’ fee.

McGinn has been an integral part of the club’s journey from the Championship to the Champions League and is a huge fans’ favourite.

With over 80 caps for Scotland to his name, he also sits fifth on his country’s list of all-time goalscorers.
