The outgoing boss of Welsh Water has said executives won't face pay cuts as the organisation sheds jobs to save money. Dŵr Cymru is cutting around 500 full-time-equivalent roles over the next 18 to 24 months to reduce annual spending by £50m.
Peter Perry, the outgoing chief executive, appeared before a Senedd committee on Wednesday and was asked about executive salaries and whether they would be cut as part of the company's trawsnewid (transformation) programme.
Welsh Water’s chief executive received a £460,000-a-year base salary in 2025-26 with total target remuneration of £894,000, according to the company’s latest accounts. For our free daily briefing on the biggest issues facing the nation, sign up to the Wale
