A Lucas County judge ordered a $25,000 bond Wednesday for a Bowling Green man accused of threatening in August to shoot up an Alexis Road home-improvement store.
John W. Zack, 35, had been released on electronic monitoring after his initial arraignment Aug. 18 in Toledo Municipal Court on a third-degree felony charge of making a terroristic threat.
But following his indictment last month in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, Judge Stacy Cook said Wednesday that a cash bond was appropriate under the circumstances.
“This may all clear up, but we’re in strange times,” she told Mr. Zack during a brief appearance during which Gretchen DeBacker was appointed as his public defender.
He was then taken into custody for booking into the Lucas County jail.
